A mobile app I built to solve a daily problem in my student house. Happie helps groups coordinate meals by tracking who's eating, suggesting recipes through a swipe based voting system, and planning special dinners. Built from scratch with full backend infrastructure.
I live in a house with 16 guys in Delft. We cook together, but keeping track of who's eating dinner on any given night became a recurring issue. We'd buy too much or too little food, people wouldn't feel like eating what was made, and coordinating recipes that everyone liked was difficult.
I wanted a simple way to fix this, so I built Happie.
Happie lets users connect in groups and indicate whether they're eating with the group that day. For recipes, I implemented a system similar to Tinder: every day, users swipe through new recipes. The recipe with the most likes gets suggested to the group along with the full recipe instructions.
The app also includes an events system for planning special dinners, so the group can coordinate bigger meals in advance.
Happie is currently in the final stages before release.
